Track: Safety Leadership
This talk will describe how to help employees take personal ownership for workplace safety. This session will provide guidance about initiating a progressive workplace safety performance system focusing on employee motivation and the strength of using positive interactions. This session will explore the principles of management theory to assess where the divergence between stating that safety is job one and actually living it occurs.
|Chris Goulart is a Senior Loss Control Consultant with Aon. Chris Goulart has 25 years of experience as a practicing Safety Professional and 17 years specializing in Behavioral Safety, Organizational Safety, Safety Culture, Safety Management Systems, Incident Investigation, Workplace Violence Prevention, and Systems Application Safety. Chris is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), with a Masters in Safety Management from Oakland University (MI), an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), a Certified Driver Trainer (CDT), and a Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM). Chris is well versed in working with organizations to assist them in identifying and mitigating the systemic components of risk, and offering reasonable business solutions. These solutions typically employ a healthy balance of engineering improvements, knowledge gap reductions, and performance management elements. Mr. Goulart has experience with assisting both large and small organizations to initiate and ultimately employ positive cultural changes that emphasize continuous improvement and implementation of successful workplace safety practices overall. Chris is a published author having written over a dozen articles in publications such as Professional Safety, Risk Management Insights, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), the Retail Loss Prevention Journal, the Organization for Behavior Management Quarterly Newsletter, etc. Chris is also a noted speaker having presented at over 100 different conferences and trade shows.|
